Leak Detection

   Quick Tour

AUTOSIR requires only a few simple steps to run:

Step One: Process Tanks

This program extracts data from the tank files and assembles it into a form that the SIR analytical software can use.

Step Two: Prepare to Build File

This is the next screen you see.

Notice that the program will automatically combine data for manifolded tanks.

Step Three: Select Parameters for Analysis

On the next screen, enter the company number and the ending date (the date through which you want the analysis done). The beginning date automatically defaults to a date 90 days prior to the ending date.

Choose to run an analysis on one location, a range of locations, or all locations.

Once you OK these selections, the program runs on its own. What's the speed of the analysis process? On a Pentium-class computer, less than 5 minutes per 120 tanks.

Step Four: State ID Verification

The next program verifies that each location has a state ID code. The state codes tell the system whether to apply .1 gph or .2 gph as the reportable loss threshold. Most states have adopted the .1 gph threshold, but because not all have, AUTOSIR has to be able to handle both automatically.

Once you tell this program to proceed, sit back and wait for the number crunching to finish.

Step Five: View/Print Analysis

You will be returned back to the Analysis Menu.

Here, choose View/ Print Analysis to see the results of the SIR analysis that you have just run.

Step Six: Report Selection

For the fastest way to look at the status of all your tank and line systems, choose option 5, Status File.

The Manager's Report would list only those tanks that returned a call other than "No Reportable Loss Detected." It is an exception report.

Step Seven: Status File

Any AUTOSIR report can be viewed on the screen, printed, or saved to disk.

That's it! That's all you do to execute a SIR analysis and view the results. It's so easy and fast that you could test your tanks and lines every day.

Most AUTOSIR users run SIR at least once a week to find problems early, while they are small-and fix them!
