Electronic BOL Import Module Now Available from AIMS Monroe, LA, December 4, 2002 – AIMS has successfully implemented electronic importation of Citgo Bills of Lading for Evans Oil Co. of Monroe, LA. The electronic-file BOL's arrive at and are processed in Evans' office in a swift manner. Using File Transfer Protocol (FTP), Citgo "pushes" a BOL file across the Internet to Evans' accounting server computer. This means that Evans' personnel do not have to do anything in order for BOL files to reach their accounting system. Evans' staff can then quickly sort and import the BOL files through the COMPAS system's BOL entry program. Evans' staff confirm or enter fuel drop data and carrier ID. This takes only seconds per BOL. Since Evans Oil uses AIMS' COMPAS accounting system, the new BOL import module provides a seamless integration of BOL data with all appropriate payables, sales, accounts receivable, tax, inventory and general ledger files. The NAXML data file format was used for this project. The NAXML data format has been positioned to allow importation of BOL's from all of the major oil companies. The NACS Downstream Distributor and Retailer committee developed the NAXML format, and AIMS has played a key role in the realization of using NAXML data files for both credit card and BOL imports. AIMS President, Robert Canterbury, comments on this new development. "Receiving and processing Bills of Lading electronically is another link in the chain of completely automating wholesale fuel transactions. We appreciate the cooperation that Evans Oil, Citgo and NACS have extended to AIMS to make this project a success. AIMS will continue to work with industry partners and our customers to produce the most complete set of transaction automation tools in the industry." ABOUT
