AIMS Develops Shell and Texaco XML Fuel Price Notification Interfaces

Monroe, LA, July 11, 2002 – AIMS, Inc. has completed the development of the Shell and Texaco XML fuel price notification interfaces. Other such interfaces will be made available as additional suppliers make their fuel prices available in XML format.

By implementing the interface at the home office, AIMS' clients that are Shell and/or Texaco branded can download rack price data directly from Shell's website. This data is then imported into their COMPAS accounting software (produced by AIMS). Manual entry of this data can be time consuming and is subject to costly human error. In a time of razor thin margins, accurate fuel price data is a must.

The fuel price file is acquired via the allianceonline website and e-mail. There is a onetime configuration of cross-references where each product and terminal combination is assigned a COMPAS pickup point and inventory item. A report can be run to confirm that all references have been configured. Fuel prices are then posted directly into the vendor price file.
