AIMS Announces Implementation of Citgo XML Credit Card Interface Monroe,
LA, June 4, 2002 –
AIMS, Inc. recently finished the first implementation of its
XML credit card processing interface for Citgo credit cards.
Gayle Oil Co. of Gueydan, LA went “live” on this interface on
May 23, 2002. This is the
second XML-format credit card processing interface implemented by AIMS.
The Conoco version was the first. Bob
Routh, General Manager for Gayle Oil, commented on the effectiveness of
the new Citgo XML credit card interface, “We’ve gone from spending 3
hours per week on processing credit card batches (prior to using any
automated interface) to 5 minutes per week.
That saves us about $100-$200 per week just on employee time.
This enables the employees to do other tasks. They (the
employees) don’t have to worry about losing data and it eliminates
human error. The biggest advantage is the efficiency that this interface
gives us--it processes all transactions throughout the system with no
manual intervention.“ Citgo-authorized
credit card batches are delivered to Gayle Oil’s office via e-mail.
The batches are imported into their COMPAS accounting software
(produced by AIMS). Credit
card credits are automatically sorted and posted among Gayle Oil’s
retail locations and/or dealers. Credit
card payables are automatically updated.
Handling fees are taken care of according to parameters set up
for each retail location. An
added bonus of the XML version of the Citgo credit card interface is
that manual cards are also included within the XML transmissions and are
therefore posted to COMPAS just as the “swipe” transactions are.
This new feature is a significant additional time-saver compared
to the “flat file” version of the Citgo credit card interface that
Gayle Oil had been running previously. ABOUT
